Flexible PACK lines: choosing stations for the cell format
Match assembly, welding and testing to varied, small-batch production.
Select processes for cells and products
The PACK solutions in the company profile cover prismatic, pouch and cylindrical cells. Welding, fixtures and assembly sequences are selected for the product structure.
Arrange flexible stations
Multi-product, small-batch production may use semi-automatic stations, fixture-return conveyors and T-shaped workstation layouts. Connect testing, assembly and welding while considering changeovers and material supply.
Information for equipment selection
Provide cell dimensions and format, pack specifications, connection methods, target cycle time and site conditions. Interfaces with existing fixtures and equipment also inform the configuration.
How module assembly differs from PACK assembly
Cell preparation focuses on identity, OCV (open-circuit voltage), IR (internal resistance) and grading. Module assembly covers stacking, compression, terminal preparation and welding. PACK assembly adds enclosures, BMS, wiring, lids and final tests. EOL means end-of-line testing; product specifications define the tests and acceptance criteria.
Choosing trolley-based, semi-automatic and automated stations
Trolleys support manual material transfer. Semi-automatic machines perform repetitive operations while operators load parts or assist assembly. Automated transport and robots can connect selected stations. Compare batch size, changeovers, bottlenecks, test time and staffing alongside the automation scope.
Equal capacity does not guarantee shared fixtures
Ah describes capacity, not cell geometry, terminal spacing, module arrangement or enclosure interfaces. Supply these dimensions and connections, and express output as cells, modules or PACKs over defined shifts. A cell station’s rate is not the finished PACK output.
Confirm cell origin and end use
New-cell assembly and retired EV battery repurposing require separate feedstock, assessment and product-use requirements. Residential storage, commercial storage, parking power and other applications need electrical, structural, BMS and test configurations matched to the final product.
