Modular robotic battery-disassembly tools still face pack-specific automation limits
Research on pack-to-module tools and human collaboration distinguishes prototype tests from production capability.
Source facts
A Journal of Remanufacturing paper published on 16 July 2026 examines adjustable robotic tools for pack-to-module dismantling, combining non-destructive and partly destructive operations with operator collaboration. It also considers potentially explosive environments and commercial components.
The tools were tested primarily on research prototypes and mock-ups, with further multi-pack validation needed. These results do not establish mature production-line capacity, compatibility or safety certification.
