MIIT reports estimated 2024 lithium-ion battery output of 1,170 GWh, up 24%: 260 GWh for storage, 826 GWh for traction and 84 GWh for consumer uses. These are battery output figures.

Implications for line planning

Aggregate storage-battery output cannot establish portable-power market shares, PACK-line orders or utilisation. Line selection still depends on cell format, product structure, connections, testing and cycle-time requirements.
